The Economy Is Gathering Pace At A Much Faster Pace Than Anticipated, Says A. Didar Singh, Secretary General, FICCI

NEW DELHI, 2 June 2016: Commenting on the present GDP growth scenario, Dr. A Didar Singh, Secretary General, FICCI commented “The latest GDP numbers underscore that the economy is gathering pace at a much faster pace than anticipated. A growth of 7.9 per cent in quarter 4 of 2015-16 is a reflection of the economy gaining momentum following a series of far reaching and targeted reform measures taken by the government over the last two years to debottleneck several sectors”.

“Results of the efforts made by the government have now started showing and we can see a visible change on the ground both with regard to investment environment and business sentiment. Going ahead, we expect this momentum to be maintained with the government clearly focused on creation of livelihood opportunities through a robust growth performance”, he added.
